Happy Birthday Oma!

I have been extremely blessed all my life to live close to my Oma and Opa. As life moves along and changes, unfortunately we lose those we love and have come to rely upon. But we learn to adjust, and miss them and cherish what we had when they were here. Oma lives not to far from me still, but she isn't always here with us. Wednesday was her birthday, and she joined us for the party! She was happy and smiling and conversing with us. What a blessing that little moment is! The light in her eyes was there, if just for a brief moment, but I was blessed enough to be able to see it.

It's finally done!

Brian and I have been working for weeks now, in our spare time, to finish Kaid's new room. He has been ready for a big boy bed for quite a while, so we decided it was time for him to move rooms. Brian used his awesome woodworking talents to do paneling on the walls, and I did the caulking and painting. What an enormous project that turned out to be! But it's done now and Kaid has been so excited. He helped :) along the way, and when he finally saw all of his things and his new bed set up in there he went crazy! I still don't think he has stopped smiling. And he is always so excited to show anyone who comes over his new room (he still takes Brian and I in there at regular intervals to show us his things!). Now that that's done it's on to the nursery...I get to make it girly!

It's a girl!

Ok so I spent all this time creating my blog about a month ago, and since then have virtually forgotten about it. I hope I get better at this!
Last month we found out that we are having a girl!!! I am so excited! I made the technician look again to be sure, she was sure! I just laid there and cried for a minute. I was so excited I didn't know what else to do! I was all ready to be a mom to only boys. (For those of you who don't understand why I would think that after just one boy...in Brian's family, for four generations, this little one will only be the fourth girl, and there are LOTS of boys. And since the dad always determines the sex of the baby, I never even thought about a girl!) So I am excited about everything girl...bows, jewelry, PINK!
